TOKYO, Jun 18 More than 10 people were hospitalized after the collision bus with a truck on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, three are unconscious in critical condition, NHK reports.
According to the police, the head-on collision occurred at 07.50 Sunday local time (01.50 Moscow time) on the national highway number 5 near Nodaoi station. There were 18 passengers and a driver on the passenger bus bound for Hakodate City.
As a result of an accident, at least 10 people were hospitalized, three of them are unconscious in critical condition.
The footage taken from the NHK TV channel's helicopter shows that both vehicles received significant damage to the body. From the impact, the roof of the cab of the truck was torn off and turned vertically at a right angle, and the van was almost «torn» in half.
The causes of the accident have not yet been reported.
