The judge of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow, Varvara Oganova, sent 23-year-old Alexander Pletnev and 37-year-old Alexei Gurikov to jail until August 22, accused of preparing for sabotage. Mediazona was informed about this from the courtroom.
The case was opened under part 1 of article 30, point “a” of part 2 of article 281 of the Criminal Code (preparation for sabotage by a group of people). At the meeting, Pletnev said that he was detained on June 21, but formally he and Gurikov were detained on June 22, a criminal case was opened on the same day.
FSB investigator Svyatoslav Shurygin did not describe the essence of the case and immediately asked to send Pletnev and Gurikov to jail. The accused Pletnev, on the advice of his attorney-in-fact, Elena Klimova, did not object to such a measure of restraint. During the meeting, the question of whether Pletnev admits guilt or not was not addressed in any way.
At the same time, on the advice of lawyer Eduard Golitsyn, Gurikov objected to the detention. The day before, according to Golitsyn's lawyer, his client during interrogation declared his readiness to cooperate with the investigation in full. In addition, Gurikov has several diseases, his sick mother is dependent on him.
FSB investigator Shurygin insisted on a pre-trial detention center: in his opinion, the admission of guilt does not detract from the gravity of the crime, for which imprisonment for up to 20 years is provided. According to the investigator, the accused Gurikov has “numerous criminal connections on the territory of the Russian Federation” and he can hide. Shurygin ignored the question of Golitsyn's lawyer about whether the investigation could provide evidence of such connections.
