YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, June 25 An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 struck central Sakhalin on Sunday, the Sakhalin branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences said.
«An earthquake of magnitude 4, 2 occurred on June 25 at 03.54 (19.54 Moscow time Saturday). The epicenter was 4 kilometers east of the village of Pilvo in Smirnykhovsky. The source of tremors was located at a depth of 3 kilometers,» said Elena Semenova, head of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismic station.
The interlocutor noted that according to operational data, an earthquake was felt in the village of Onor, Smirnykh District, with a magnitude of 3–4.
