Deputy of the State Duma, retired lieutenant general Viktor Sobolev expressed the opinion that the fighters of the PMC «Wagner», who participated in the rebellion, are unlikely to be allowed to go to serve in Belarus after Yevgeny Prigozhin.
«Those who did not take part in the direct rebellion, if they want, will sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense,» he said in an interview with Pod'yom, adding that after that they would return to the area of the special military operation.
The general called the situation with those who took part in the rebellion incomprehensible, but expressed confidence that they would not be prosecuted.
«Those who took part, apparently, will be sent home, as far as I understand,» he said, noting that the fighters would not be persecuted, given their merits.
Sobolev expressed doubt that Alexander Lukashenko would allow a private military company to be organized on the territory of Belarus, based on lessons learned in Russia.
