After the message that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko managed to agree with the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, to stop the advance of the rebels, Prigozhin commented on the situation.
“We are turning our columns around and leaving in the opposite direction to the field camps according to the plan,” he said.
He also explained that “they wanted to disband the Wagner group.”
Prigozhin said: “On June 23 we went to the March of Justice. In a day, we walked 200 kilometers before Moscow.”
According to him, during this time his soldiers “did not shed a single drop of blood.”
Also, Prigozhin noted that “ the moment has come when blood can be shed» and therefore «Wagner», «understanding all the responsibility», turns its columns and leaves in the opposite direction «to the field camps according to the plan».
The comment was posted on the Prigozhin Press Service telegram channel.
A few minutes before it became known that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, in agreement with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, held talks with Prigogine. They went on throughout the day on June 24, and as a result, the founder of Wagner PMC accepted Lukashenko's proposal to stop the movement of fighters participating in the rebellion across Russia and take further steps to de-escalate.
It is noted that the parties agreed on the inadmissibility unleashing a massacre in Russia and Lukashenka offered Prigozhin an acceptable solution to the situation, with security guarantees for PMC fighters.
