SARATOV, June 26 A resident of the Saratov region attacked a policeman with a knife while being detained for an administrative offense and wounded him in the neck, a criminal case was opened on attempting to kill a law enforcement officer, reportedly in the telegram channel of the regional department of the RF IC.
«According to the investigation, on June 25, 2023, in the daytime, a 46-year-old man, who was detained by police officers for committing an administrative offense, while in the interior of an official car under the control of a law enforcement officer, stabbed the latter with a knife in the neck. The victim was hospitalized in a medical institution. The suspect has been detained, investigative actions are being carried out with him. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided,» the message says.
It is specified that the investigators initiated a case against a resident of the city of Engels under article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer.»
The sanctions of this article provide for punishment up to life imprisonment.
