LUKOIL has concluded a deal to acquire the asset of Ural Bitumen Terminal LLC of TA Group as part of the development of the bitumen materials business. The purchase of a production and storage terminal expands the capacity for the production, transshipment and storage of bitumen in priority regions of Russia. . The enterprise is equipped with a modern automated production management system and the latest laboratory equipment. It allows the production of bitumen and polymer-bitumen binders (PBB), as well as their one-time storage of 50,000 tons. The transport infrastructure of the terminal is designed for the use of road and rail transport, which is especially important given the wide geography of deliveries.
First of all, the production and storage bitumen terminal will meet the needs of the road construction industry within the framework of the national project “Safe quality roads » in the Volga, Siberian and Ural federal districts of Russia. In particular, it will be used to supply LUKOIL high-tech bitumen, developed according to the Company's exclusive technology, for the construction of the federal highway M12 Moscow – Kazan – Yekaterinburg.
The production and storage terminal has become the next milestone in the implementation of the LUKOIL bitumen business development strategy . It provides not only the expansion of the production base, but the development of scientific potential, the expansion of the product range and the improvement of the logistics infrastructure. Thus, earlier the Company opened a bitumen materials research center (R&D Center) in Kstovo, as well as two bitumen shipping centers in Volgograd and Nizhny Novgorod.
