«During the preliminary hearing, the court did not return the case to prosecutor's office and scheduled its consideration for July 6,» the source said. According to the lawyer, Sachkov's preventive measure in the form of detention was also extended for six months, until December 14.
Sachkov was placed in a pre-trial detention center at the end of September 2021, he faces 12 to 20 years in prison. The materials of the case, as in the vast majority of investigations related to treason, are classified.
Shortly after the arrest, the founder of Group-IB turned to President Vladimir Putin with a request to facilitate his transfer from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest . Sachkov did not achieve the result. According to the businessman's defense, he pleads not guilty, and the criminal case is not related to the activities of the company he founded.
