MOSCOW, June 27The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation extended the regime of export agreements between producers in the sugar market for the new agricultural year, the permissible total volume of export outside the EAEU for the period from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024 is again determined in the amount of 1 ton, follows from the order on the official portal of legal information .
«Determine, based on the balance of supply and demand of white sugar and (or) raw beet sugar in the domestic market, for the period from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024 (inclusive) the allowable total volume of exports of white sugar and (or) raw beet sugar for borders of the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union during the period of general exceptions to agreements between economic entities engaged in the production and (or) sale of white sugar and (or) raw beet sugar in the amount of 1 ton,» the document says.
At the end of 2022, the Russian Federation exceeded the indicator of the Food Security Doctrine for sugar (90%): it amounted to 103.2 %. The Union of Sugar Producers of Russia («Soyuzrossakhar») predicted that in the 2022-2023 season (for sugar — from August 1, 2022 to July 31, 2023), sugar production is expected to be at the level of 6.1 million tons of sugar (plus 5.2% per year year), and inventory at the end of the season is projected at the level of the previous year.
The resolution allowing the creation of an export association in the Russian Federation on the sugar market was signed by the Cabinet of Ministers in April 2020.
