BLAGOVESCHENSK, June 29 Police opened a criminal investigation into the poisoning of more than 80 children in the White Mountains health camp in the Amur region, reports the investigative department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Amur Region .
According to the investigation, from June 28 to June 29, in a children's health camp in the Bureya district, employees of the institution “violated sanitary and epidemiological rules,” which led to mass poisoning. More than 80 children aged 8 to 16 applied for medical help.
Doctors examined the poisoned, nothing threatens their health now. By decision of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, the work of the camp was suspended.
“The Bureya Interdistrict Investigation Department of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Amur Region accepted a criminal case initiated by the internal affairs bodies under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules). The corresponding decision on determining jurisdiction was made prosecutors,» the statement said.
As the regional government reported, the administration of the White Mountains camp tried to hide the fact of mass poisoning.
