The security forces in Moscow opened a criminal case on espionage (Article 276 of the Criminal Code) — the investigation requires the suspect to be placed in a pre-trial detention center. A card on the choice of a measure of restraint appeared on the website of the Lefortovsky District Court of the capital, Mediazona drew attention to it.
The suspect's name is E. Ishchuk. It is not known what prompted the initiation of the criminal case. A court hearing has not yet been scheduled. The maximum penalty under Article 276 of the Criminal Code is 20 years in prison.
Foreigners are charged with espionage. There is no information about the identity of the detainee yet, but today the FSB reported on the detention of a Ukrainian citizen from Lugansk. According to investigators, the detainee, «guided by personal motives, in order to assist the armed formations of Ukraine,» collected and transmitted information about the locations and movement of the LPR police units and the Russian armed forces.
“Based on the information received by the investigators of the FSB of Russia, a criminal case was initiated against her on the grounds of a crime under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code, ”RIA Novosti quotes a press release from the security forces. Whether the FSB report refers to our heroine is not known.
