MOSCOW, 30 Jun. The head of the State Duma Sports Committee, Dmitry Svishchev, called the arrest of a Russian hockey player in Poland a villainous act.
Earlier, the Polish authorities reported that a Russian hockey player who played in the country's first league had been detained on charges of espionage. Later, information appeared that his name was Maxim S. (it is forbidden to give a surname in accordance with Polish law).

“This is a blatant and absolutely scoundrel act of the Polish authorities. There is no other way to call it. Obviously, our athlete has nothing to do with espionage scandals. This is another invention of Polish politicians. Because lately everything connected with Russia causes panic fear in them. Russophobic sentiments have become in the order of things in Poland, ”RT Svishchev quotes.
The official website of the Polish Ice Hockey Union contains information that Maxim Sergeev, a native of Reutov, plays in the Zaglembe club. Even the number of his hockey player's license is given — 4144/S.
At the same time, such a hockey player is currently absent from the official composition of the above-named club posted on the official website.
