The military expert told what forces Kiev will defend against the «Wagnerites»
The real panic over the camps of the Wagner assault detachment in Belarus engulfed not only the Baltic countries and Poland, but and Ukraine. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zauzhny admitted in an interview that he had many fears and Wagner was among them. And Zelensky, albeit indirectly, admitted that with the stormtroopers who had ground the elite of the Ukrainian army in Bakhmut (Artemovsk), one must keep one's ears open and ordered to strengthen the northern front.
According to a military expert, a former special forces officer, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk, Zelensky is now in a panic, since there is nothing to strengthen the northern direction. All forces are concentrated in the south, where the big performance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues.
At first, Western countries and Ukraine rubbed their hands, watching the demarche of the Wagner PMC, but very soon became discouraged. No one expected such a development of the situation, namely, the transfer of assault detachments to the side of Ukraine.
The Baltics were the first to panic. Thus, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that the West should not only analyze all the risks arising from the relocation of Yevgeny Prigozhin and Wagner PMC to Belarus, but also prepare for the worst. For example, the Lithuanian president did not rule out that “musicians” might seep into the republic in a crowd of illegal immigrants.
“One day, “Wagnerites” may appear among these illegal migrants. Are we ready for such a challenge? Such a possibility cannot be ruled out either,” the politician noted.
Polish Deputy Defense Minister Wojciech Skurkiewicz went further and urged his neighbors to expect surprises from the «musicians» now — provocations, according to the military, should occur before the NATO summit in Vilnius, which will be held in mid-July.
«We are convinced that they are not there to relax, but to conduct planned operations in the south, against Ukraine, and possibly also in the west against Poland and in the north against Lithuania,” the Polish military said.
At the same time, referring to sources in Polish intelligence, Skurkevich said that at present, at least 8,000 Wagner attack aircraft were allegedly deployed in Belarus, and warned that this was not the end.
They seem to be holding a hand on pulse and in Kiev. First, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that Kyiv considers the presence of Wagner PMC on the territory of Belarus a real threat and is closely monitoring the situation in the republic. Meanwhile, as it became known on Friday, June 30, Zelensky ordered the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Naev to begin strengthening the northern borders.
Zaluzhny, who previously openly criticized the president for the «Azov operation», seems to have supported Zelensky in this decision. In one of his last interviews with foreign journalists, the general admitted that he had many fears, and Wagner was among them.
According to a military expert, former special forces officer Anatoly Matviychuk, all the latest statements and actions of Kiev indicate one thing: the enemy is clearly in a stalemate:
— Zelensky is now in a panic and does not know what to do. The fact is that on July 11-12 in Vilnius, at the NATO summit, the main question will be decided — what to do with Ukraine. It is possible that the issue of freezing the conflict or transferring land to Poland will be decided. Therefore, Zelensky is now in a panic — either he stated that he would not go to the summit, or he came up with the idea that Wagner was already in Belarus and threatened him, so it was necessary to strengthen the borders in the north.
According to the expert, nevertheless, the strengthening will occur, but the whole question is where to get the forces from.
— The Kiev regime no longer has the forces to transfer them to the northern front. He had a reserve — an army corps of 40 thousand people. He was armed with Western equipment supplied to him and manned by military personnel trained in Western training centers. But he's already been torn apart. Several tens of thousands of people from this corps were previously thrown to the front and died there. I think that all these statements by Zelensky are a bluff, pure panache and an attempt to create the image of a belligerent president.
