Two Colombian Air Force planes collided over Apiay in the center of the country. This was reported by the local newspaper Heraldo del Norte. According to the newspaper, one of the pilots died, the other was not injured.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon during a training flight. The two planes collided at low altitude. According to preliminary data, one of the planes crashed, the other made an emergency landing, kilometers from the runway.
A Colombian air force base is located in the village of Apiay. Two Brazilian-made T-30 Tucano combat training aircraft were assigned to it.
The Colombian authorities have not yet commented on the incident in the sky over Apiay.
