S. PETERSBURG, July 3, Dmitry Edigarev. Zenit General Director Alexander Medvedev is in touch with representatives of the Brazilian midfielder Wendel, head coach of the St. Petersburg football club Sergei Semak told reporters.
Earlier, Semak confirmed that Wendel intends to leave Zenit. The player did not join the team that came out of vacation. According to the E Gool portal, Brazilian Corinthians intend to take the midfielder on loan with an option to buy for 18 million euros.
«All contacts with Wendel are managed. Medvedev is in touch with the player's representatives. We are not worried that he may be in bad condition if he returns. We will have players in better condition,» Semak said.
Vendel has been representing Zenit since 2020, together with the club he became a three-time champion of Russia and won the country's Super Cup twice. In total, he played 88 matches for the Petersburgers, scored 15 goals and gave 13 assists.
