MOSCOW, July 4, Andrey Mikhailov. Worked last season in the Russian Premier League (RPL), referees Anton Frolov and Ivan Sidenkov will start the new season in the First League, the communications service of the Russian Football Union (RFU) reported. On July 4, the RFU published on the official website the rating of the ten best referees of the 2022/23 season, which was formed taking into account the assessments of the match inspectors and the decisions of the expert refereeing commission of the union. In June, Pavel Kamantsev, who at that time held the post of head of the refereeing committee of the organization, said in an interview that the two referees with the worst rating following the results of the completed RPL season would continue their work in the First League.
“According to the decision of the refereeing committee, Anton Frolov and Ivan Sidenkov will start the new season in the First League. This decision was made based on the rating of referees and assessments of their work by inspectors in the matches of the last season,” the RFU communications service reported. Vladislav Bezborodov, Pavel Kukuyan, Sergey Karasev, Artem Chistyakov, Alexei Amelin, Evgeny Turbin, Vitaly Meshkov, Kirill Levnikov, Pavel Shadykhanov and Artem Lyubimov took places from one to ten in the RFU ranking. Among the referees who spent from one to four seasons in the RPL, the rating was headed by Chistyakov, Amelin and Shadykhanov, and among the debutants of the last season — Rafael Shafeev, Roman Safyan and Sergey Cheban.
