Financial Times: Western artillery is not designed for such intense combat
Fighting on the territory of Ukraine showed that the Western artillery supplied to Kiev was not designed for such intense battles. This statement was made by a retired colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a consultant on the military industry Petr Pyatakov in a commentary to the Financial Times newspaper.
“During the operations, it became obvious that these systems were not designed for such intense hostilities,” said the retired Ukrainian officer.
Pyatakov added that Western artillery systems, compared to Soviet artillery, need a “break” after two to three minutes of firing at maximum speed.
In addition, a Ukrainian soldier in Retired, he stressed that Western artillery manufacturers are very actively interested in feedback from the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to eliminate shortcomings if necessary.
