MOSCOW, 6 Jul. The winners of the XVII Zerkalo International Film Festival named after Andrei Tarkovsky have been announced, the press service of the show reports.
The Grand Prix went to the Indian film Shivamma (directed by Jaishankar Aryar). Babak Jalali won Best Director for «Fremont» (USA). The special jury prize went to the Georgian film «Brighton 4» by Levan Koguashvili.
Anton Yermolin's «Nish» project was awarded the prize of independent Telegram channels. The audience named «One Little Night Secret» by Natalia Meshchaninova the best. Sofya Gorlenko was awarded the Special Prize of the «Interlacing» program for exploring the boundaries of cinema, art and design for her painting «Thin Thread».
Director Yevgeny Tsymbal received a special prize for Andrey Tarkovsky's contribution to cinema. Yuri Bykov received the Alexander Kaidanovsky Prize. The special prize for outstanding contribution to cinematography was awarded to Andrey Smirnov.
Eight films participated in the main competition. 12 countries were involved in their production: Georgia, India, Canada, China, Columbia, Cuba, Malaysia, Norway, Serbia, USA, France and Russia.
The winners were chosen by actress Olga Lapshina, directors Fariz Akhmedov (Azerbaijan) and Darezhan Omirbaev (Kazakhstan). The jury was headed by the director and founder of the School of Dramatic Art theater Anatoly Vasiliev.
It was previously reported that the premiere of the second part of the documentary film «Mikhail Gorshenev. The Legend of the King and the Jester» will be held on July 8 at the festival of new Russian cinema «Bitter Fest » in Nizhny Novgorod.
