MOSCOW, July 7 Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicles had arrived in Ukraine.
«BMP Strf 90 (CV90 — ed.) arrived in Ukraine and are ready for battle,» he wrote on Twitter.
Reznikov also thanked Swedish Defense Minister Paul Yunson and all the Swedish people for providing the vehicles.
In early June, the Swedish Ministry of Defense announced that the Ukrainian military had been trained in the spring to use these Swedish infantry fighting vehicles.
Sweden announced in February that it would supply Ukraine with 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles. At the end of May, Breaking Defense, citing sources, wrote that Ukraine «in a few days» could start using the Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.
Russia sent a note to NATO countries because of arms supplies to Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. Lavrov also stated that the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, «including not only the supply of weapons, but also the training of personnel … in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries.»
