MOSCOW, July 7 Economic growth of 3% is expected in Ukraine this year, Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said in an interview with Bloomberg.
“Economic growth of 3% is expected this year,” Marchenko said.
He also added that the Kiev regime will strive to fight corruption in order to show «the whole civilized world» that the country is moving in the right direction.
In May, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its forecast for Ukraine's GDP in real terms for 2023, expecting growth in the range of 1 to 3% compared to the previous forecast range of -3 to +1% . The IMF sees signs of Ukraine's «gradual economic recovery» in 2023, with the «outlook remaining highly uncertain» due to the ongoing conflict.
Earlier, Marchenko also stated that the Ukrainian budget deficit is about $5 billion a month, two-thirds of the funds the budget receives from foreign loans and grants, while three-quarters of budget spending falls on military needs.
