MOSCOW, 6 Jul. Founded by Roman Abramovich, the Kinoprime Foundation will create a Mayak festival of contemporary Russian cinema in Gelendzhik, according to the organization's website.
The first festival will be held on October 5-9, 2023 in the format of a professional forum. There will be a program of film screenings and business events. The event will be fully financed by Kinoprime and private partners.
“The aim of this festival is to showcase the best original films made over the past two years and talk with the professional community about the state of Russian cinema and what the industry’s prospects are «, — said Anton Malyshev, the producer of the show.
The program director of «Mayak» was the curator of the «Khudozhestvenny» cinema, critic Stas Tyrkin. The business program is supervised by Ksenia Boletskaya, director for interaction with the industry at Yandex.
“Today, in a working and, if possible, sober mode, we need to understand ourselves, understand where we are, where we are coming from, where we are going, what millennium we have in the yard.
