«Yandex. Music» and the Music Industry Association (AMI) developed recommendations for tracks on music services and based on them created a system «to identify content on sensitive topics.» This was reported in a press release from the IT corporation.
The company did not provide a list of recommendations in question.
From now on, the content posted on Yandex. Music» will go through two stages of verification — using artificial intelligence and manual processing. According to the company, thanks to this innovation, it will be possible to “identify with high accuracy” tracks “for adults” and give them the appropriate marking.
“The system will also be used to identify content on sensitive topics that may cause discomfort to listeners. Depending on the nature of the content, it can be marked with special signs indicating an age limit, excluded from the recommendations or removed from the service,” the publication says.
As noted in the IT corporation, recommendations for content and the verification system will be able to use other music services in the future. The head of Yandex.Music, Alexandra Sagalovich, specified that her service would be the first to test new developments in order to find a balance between the “freedom of creativity” and the “safety” of listeners.
“I would like to believe that hybrid moderation will continue to avoid incidents when Russians on the eve of Victory Day are offered to listen to frankly misanthropic poems,” State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein reacted to the news about the development of Yandex.
