The head of the Austrian OMV, Stern, said he would not refuse Russian gas
The head of the Austrian oil and gas company OMV, Alfred Stern, said that the concern will continue to buy gas from the Russian Federation under a long-term contract.
According to the Financial Times, Stern said that OMV will receive gas volumes from Gazprom as long as the Russian supplier will provide them. He added that «eliminating some sources of supply will cause prices to rise.» At the same time, it is indicated that OMV seeks to diversify its supplier network and, among other things, cooperates with the Romanian Romgaz.
At the end of April, OMV management announced that the company would continue to buy Russian gas, since it was not subject to EB sanctions.
