Early voting starts in Uzbekistan President of the Republic.
According to the CEC of the country, almost 19.6 million registered voters will be able to cast their votes in the elections. At the same time, 376,623 people have already cast their vote ahead of schedule. Polling stations will be open from 8:00 to 20:00 local time.
There are four candidates running for the presidency. This is the current head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev; candidate from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, former deputy head of the State Forestry Committee and ex-director of the Scientific Institute of Forestry Abdushukur Khamzaev; lawyer, senator and judge Robakhon Makhmudova; former Minister of Public Education, nominated by the People's Democratic Party, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ulugbek Inoyatov.
