Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Turkey's decision to extradite Azov commanders to Ukraine (described as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation) is connected with the situation in the NVO zone.
According to Peskov, Ankara violated the agreements — under the terms of the exchange, the commanders captured at Azovstal had to remain in Turkey until the end of hostilities — due to failures APU during the counteroffensive. The troops of the Kyiv regime face failures daily, Peskov added.
Peskov also said that before the NATO summit, Turkey, a member of the alliance, was under great pressure. Moscow understands everything perfectly, Peskov concluded.
At the same time, Peskov called the actions of Turkey and Ukraine to extradite the «Azovites» a direct violation of the agreements, which Russia was not warned about: «Violation of the agreements does not paint anyone.»
