MOSCOW, July 8 Mexico would like to start supplying cocoa and vanilla to Russia, discussing with the Kristall distillery the possibility of producing vanilla liquor, the country's ambassador to Moscow, Eduardo Villegas Mejias, said in an interview.
“We believe that this (vanilla — ed.) is one of the main Mexican products that can be appreciated in Russia. For example, vanilla can be added to chocolates. We will try to have confectionery factories use our vanilla, and also add it to baked goods in restaurants. In addition to vanilla, there are many other products that we can supply to the Russian market and which will be attractive to consumers,» the diplomat told the agency.
According to the ambassador, the Kristall distillery became interested in the idea of supplying Mexican vanilla extract.

«They want to sell it, they are also interested in production, because they make various liqueurs. Therefore, we are considering the possibility of producing vanilla liqueur with them,» explained Eduardo Villegas Mejias.

Cocoa can become another important product for export to Russia, the ambassador noted.
«As far as I understand, chocolate for sweets is brought from Belgium, but there is no cocoa production in Belgium. Cocoa production is limited in Mexico, we already export a lot to the USA, to Europe, and we need to show that here (in Russia — ed.) .) there is an interesting market that can be beneficial for both parties,» he said.
