MOSCOW, 10 Jul.Guinea would like to involve the Russian company RusHydro in the construction of dams and hydroelectric power stations, as well as in the electrification of the country as a whole, Nyankoy Aba, the Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea in Moscow, said in an interview.
“We would like to interest Russian companies in investing in various industries in Guinea, including the energy sector. Recently, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Guinea met with representatives of RusHydro and discussed how the company can help Guinea in the electrification of the country. Vladimir Lenin’s words about that communism is electrification plus Soviet power,» the ambassador said.
He added that the previous Guinean ambassador also kept in touch with RusHydro, then the parties planned a video conference on how the company could help the country in the construction of dams and small hydroelectric power plants. It is too early to talk about specific agreements, he noted, but the Guinean side has projects in the cities of Dabola and Macenta, in which they would like to involve RusHydro.
“We will continue to develop this cooperation until we get the Russian side interested in investing in electrification and agriculture in Guinea,” Aba concluded.
