MOSCOW, July 13 The Ostankino Court of Moscow fined the Ivy online cinema for 1 million rubles for not marking «18+» during the film screening «Perfect strangers,» reports a correspondent from the courtroom.
«The court ruled to find Ivi.ru LLC guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 6.2.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and to impose a fine of 1 million rubles on it,» Judge Anna Bolotnikova announced the decision.
The representative of the online cinema said that the rental certificate for the film «Perfect Strangers» was issued by the Ministry of Culture in 2017 with the marking «16+». He added that on the cinema's website, the viewing restriction for persons under 18 years of age was added in April — immediately after receiving a notification from Roskomnadzor.
The company was threatened with a fine in the amount of 1 to 4 million rubles or an administrative suspension of activities for up to 90 days.
The article of the Code of Administrative Offenses «Dissemination among minors of information demonstrating non-traditional sexual relations and (or) preferences or capable of causing minors to desire to change their sex» appeared in the code at the end of last year.
It implies punishment in the form of fines, legal entities may also face administrative suspension of activities, and foreigners or stateless persons may face administrative arrest and expulsion from Russia.
Moscow courts have already imposed fines for similar offenses against Start, Premier, KinoPoisk and Megafon-TV services.
