MOSCOW, July 15 Vladimir Zelensky said in his telegram channel that he discussed with the President of South Korea Yun Sok Yol the implementation of the so-called global «peace summit» in Ukraine.
«Today, President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Seok-yeol and First Lady Kim Kong-hee are in Ukraine. During this visit — the first in the history of our relations — we discuss everything that is important for the normal and safe life of people, for the international order based on rules. The return of deported adults and children, the implementation of Formula Peace and the preparation of a global peace summit, food and energy security and economic cooperation,» Zelensky said.
Earlier, the head of Vladimir Zelensky's office, Andriy Yermak, said that Kyiv would like to hold the so-called global «peace summit» in Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelensky confirmed that a summit was being organized to discuss his proposed peace plan. Kyiv wants the meeting to cover as many countries as possible.
In early June, a source in Moscow noted that the so-called peace summit that Zelensky is trying to convene has as little to do with a peaceful settlement as his “peace formula”, everyone who agrees to participate in it will automatically come out as supporters continuation of the armed conflict.
Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kyiv has imposed a ban on them at the legislative level. The West constantly calls on the Russian Federation to negotiate, for which Moscow is showing readiness, but at the same time, the West ignores Kyiv's constant refusals to engage in dialogue. Earlier, the Kremlin stated that there are no prerequisites for the transition of the situation in Ukraine to a peaceful course, the absolute priority for Russia is to achieve the goals of the special operation, at the moment this is possible only by military means. As stated in the Kremlin, the situation in Ukraine can move into a peaceful direction, provided that the de facto situation and new realities are taken into account, all Moscow's demands are well known.
