St. Petersburg, 28 Jul. Contact lenses Johnson & Johnson — the Acuvue brand — will not be included in the updated list of parallel imports, Vasily Osmakov, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said in an interview.
“No, they won't,” he said in an interview at the Russia-Africa forum, answering a question about the brand's lenses being included in this list.
Osmakov also recalled that the company made a statement about the continuation of supplies literally the next day after the announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on the inclusion of the brand in the list of parallel imports. In turn, uninterrupted supplies are one of the main criteria for non-inclusion of products in this list.
The First Deputy Minister also noted that the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation had already approved an updated list of goods subject to parallel imports. In the near future, the document is planned to be sent for approval to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
At the end of May, the American company Johnson & Johnson has warned about the suspension of imports of contact lenses in the Russian Federation, the pharmaceutical company Protek reported. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, in turn, announced the inclusion of contact lenses from manufacturers such as Alcon Laboratories Inc., Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson (J&J) to the parallel import list within two weeks.
