In addition, the Deputy Minister drew attention to the fact that historically Russia has been mainly present in North Africa in gas projects, and new projects are more often associated with Central Africa. He announced that Russian companies could soon «very actively» announce their projects there.

He also said that promising areas of cooperation in the fuel and energy complex between Russia and Africa are nuclear energy, the supply of energy resources, including fuel, the use of Russian technologies for the extraction and exploration of minerals, not only on the continent, but also on the shelf.
«We have good experience in processing and enrichment. It is necessary to mention the coal part, because there are countries with good reserves of high-quality coal. And therefore it is a sin not to use this resource as a base one, because renewable energy is either there or not , and in order for it to be reliable and accessible, someone needs to work in the base,» the deputy minister concluded.
