
St. PETERSBURG, July 28, Sergey Fuks. Ex-coach of Tom and former adviser to the president of CSKA Valery Nepomnyashchiy said at the Russia-Africa summit that he was asked to help create a professional football club in Cameroon.
On Friday, within the framework of the summit, a session «Prospects for international football cooperation between African and Russian countries» is being held, one of the participants of which was a 79-year-old specialist.
«»Two months ago I was approached with a request to create a professional club. Once again they turned to me, although they already have professional football. Therefore, I understand that I am once again challenged. Moreover, they asked for help with the training of coaches and managers in Russia,» Nepomniachtchi told reporters.
Nepomniachtchi was the head coach of the Cameroon national team from 1988 to 1990. Under his leadership, the team reached the 1/4 finals of the 1990 World Cup in Italy.
