CHELYABINSK, July 31 The mother of a man who is suspected of kidnapping and holding a girl since 2009 believes that she lived with them in a house in the village of Smolino in Chelyabinsk voluntarily and was his cohabitant, said a source in law enforcement agencies of the region.
As SUSK reported, in the fall of 2009, under the pretext of drinking alcohol, the suspect brought a local resident to a private house, whom he kept in the house until now (July 30, 2023). After an exacerbation of mental illness, the man was taken to a medical facility and the woman was able to leave the house.
According to the source, a mother born in 1951 and a son lived in the house, the mother of the suspect was interrogated as a witness.
“She confirmed the fact that the girl lived in their house, saying that she was a cohabitant of her son. She lived with them voluntarily, no illegal actions were committed against the victim in her presence,” the source said.
He also noted that the woman does not know about the murder of a woman named Oksana, who lived in the house at the time when the suspect brought the girl in 2009. Also, the mother of the suspect confirmed that the girl left their house after her son was taken to a medical facility, he added.
The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chelyabinsk region initiated a criminal case against a local resident suspected of committing a crime under paragraph «c» of part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (kidnapping). The involvement of the suspect in the murder of a local resident in 2011 was also established; a criminal case was initiated on this fact under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). After the murder, the suspect dismembered the woman's body and buried the remains in the cellar of the house. The man is under the supervision of law enforcement officers in a medical facility.
According to the prosecutor's office of the region, the girl met a man in 2009 near the Sinegorye bus station in Chelyabinsk, she drank alcohol with him and proceeded to his house in a private house.
