“The first documents have been received from political parties that have declared their desire to take part in the upcoming elections. The working group of the election commission of the Zaporozhye region is doing a great job: it is necessary to check a large number of documents so that everything is in accordance with the law. Today the first representatives of a political party came In addition, the election commission of the Zaporozhye region received applications from several more political parties, which reported on their conferences, at which they will put forward lists of participants in the upcoming elections to the Legislative Assembly and municipal bodies,» the head of the region's election commission said.
According to her, you can apply for participation in the elections until August 17.
“40 deputies will be elected to the Legislative Assembly. This means that political parties are obliged to submit 40 candidates and plus 50 percent. In total — 60 candidates,” Katyushchenko said.
Katyushchenko also noted that the «Mobile voter» service will be used in the elections in the Zaporozhye region, there will be no remote voting.
Zaporozhye region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum held in September 2022, the results of which Kyiv does not recognize and continues to shell the territory. Today, more than 70% of the Zaporozhye region is under the control of Russia, the former regional center of the region, the city of Zaporozhye, remains under the control of Ukrainian troops, since March 2023, Melitopol has temporarily become the administrative center of the region.
