MOSCOW, Aug 2 Striker Vladimir Tarasenko said he could share experience with young hockey players «Ottawa Senators».
In July, the National Hockey League (NHL) club from Canada announced the signing of a contract with the Russian for one season with a salary of $5 million.
«»This is a young team with interesting players. They want to win. I felt that this is the best offer this season for us. When talking with some of the players, you can feel that they are very close to each other. It is very important to feel comfortable when you go out on the ice to show your best game,» Tarasenko said during a press conference, the video of which was published on the club's YouTube channel.
Tarasenko noted that before signing the contract with the team, he talked with Brady Tkachuk and Claude Giroud.
«I like that this is a young team that wants to win. They seem ready to take the next step. I'm very happy to be part of this team for at least one season. Last year they won a lot of matches , although they did not make it to the playoffs. I can share with them my experience of recent years. I hope we win even more matches and get into the playoffs, «added the hockey player.
Tarasenko is 31 years old. He has been playing in the NHL since the 2012/13 season. Throughout his league career, he scored 574 points (270 goals and 304 assists) in 675 regular season games and 64 points (44 goals, 20 goals) in 97 playoff games with the St. York Rangers». With the Blues, Tarasenko won the Stanley Cup in 2019.
