
MOSCOW, 2 Aug. Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva admitted that she had given up her dream of winning the Olympic gold medal.
The athlete took part in the 2018 Games, which were held in Pyeongchang. Medvedeva took second place among single skaters, losing to compatriot Alina Zagitova. The figure skater also won a silver medal in the team competition.

“A dream that I gave up was Olympic gold. A dream that is not destined to come true. And, like, it's okay. I won’t say that it makes me kind of unhappy,” Medvedeva told the YouTube channel “Not Proust.”
Medvedeva is 23 years old. In addition to two silver medals at the Olympics, she has two victories at the World and European Championships.
