«High Risks for Financial Assistance»
Seeing how the Zelensky regime famously «masters» Western aid, the US State Department has requested an increase in the staff of the US embassy in Kyiv. The need for this step is justified in the report of the Inspector General of the US State Department, which became public. The document says that the high level of corruption in both the private sector and the government of Ukraine «carries high risks in relation to financial assistance provided by Washington.»
“In the long term, the United States plans to provide assistance in the reconstruction of Ukraine, but the corruption component in this country creates risks in relation to the effectiveness of such assistance.” — said in the document. In other words, the Inspector General of the US State Department admits that the financial assistance provided to Kyiv is being stolen, and assumes that the funds allocated for the post-conflict reconstruction of Ukraine will suffer the same fate. Moreover, he points out that the Ukrainian government itself is corrupt. Therefore, further allocation of financial assistance to Ukraine requires strict control, for which it is proposed to increase the number of embassy employees.
The inspector expresses hope that the increase in the staff of the US Embassy in Ukraine will allow «more effective control over the movement of funds allocated to Ukraine,» since employees will be able to travel more around the country. According to the report, embassy officials agree with these recommendations. However, it says nothing about the reaction of the Ukrainian authorities: it seems that their opinion no longer matters at all.
The increase in the staff of the American embassy in Kyiv suggests that Washington no longer fears that the Ukrainian capital will be occupied by Russian troops. Recall that ten days before the start of the NMD, the United States decided to temporarily move its embassy from Kyiv to Lvov. But in the end, on February 22, 2022, the embassy was found in Poland. And in May he returned to Kyiv. It was then reported that only a small number of employees returned to work. There was also a ban on travel around the country and consular work was curtailed. Now, apparently, nothing prevents American diplomats from traveling around the country, as they think.
Recall that earlier the Pentagon commission revealed the facts of the theft of weapons supplied to Ukraine. True, so, on trifles: some rifles and cartridges were stolen from a warehouse. More serious facts passed by the attention of the inspectors. The National Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (another US tool with which they control the situation in the country) after the scandal with the Odessa military commissar Yevgeny Borisov, who acquired real estate in Spain during the SVO, intends to check the activities of 1,800 heads of territorial recruitment centers (military registration and enlistment offices). But this is a trifle compared to how they steal in the highest corridors of Ukrainian power. And the Americans will not touch the “captains” of Ukrainian corruption, because their patrons in Washington “have a share” with many of them. Suffice it to recall the story of Biden and his son, who not weakly enriched themselves in Ukraine. Various fully legalized lobbying structures and PR agencies paid by the Kiev regime. I assume that a significant part of the aid allocated to Kyiv, in reality, was «mastered» by the Americans themselves. The same awaits the money allocated for the restoration of Ukraine, if it ever starts.
