MOSCOW, Aug 6 Social network X (formerly Twitter) took the name of the account @music, which had about half a million subscribers, the American television channel CNBC reports, citing the owner of the account, Jeremy Vaught.
Vaught told the TV channel that he received an email from the company stating that the account was becoming the property of the company. It is noted that he was asked to choose from a list of other account names «related to the theme of music.»
«At least X has moved all of my followers to the new account. …The risk of losing the account name undermines user confidence in the platform,» Vooth told CNBC.
Woth's @music account, created in 2007, has about half a million subscribers, according to the channel. It is not yet known how the social network X will dispose of the account.
The Telegraph, citing account owner @x, reported in July that US entrepreneur Elon Musk's X Corp. took over @x's Twitter account as part of a rebrand without paying the owner. According to the owner of the Twitter account, American photographer Jean X, he received an email saying that the account was being taken over by Musk's company.
