On July 31, it became known that the winner of the European Youth Championship in beach handball, the player of the Belgorod club Tekhnolog-Spartak, Nikita Zadorozhniy, died of blood cancer at the age of 27.
He became the winner of the European Youth Championship as part of the Russian national team, won Cup of Russia and three times won the championship of Russia in beach handball. In classical handball, he won the Major League twice and became a multiple winner of the Russian championships.
“Yes, he died of blood cancer. We just had competitions at that time in Astrakhan — the third round of the Russian championship. One of the players was told about this. After the game, the guys gathered in a circle, talked for a long time, I went up to them, they I was told that Nikita had died. It was a complete shock,» said the coach of his team Sergey Kramskoy.

The 2022/2023 season was truly the best for the son of the famous midfielder and coach of Kuzbass Evgeny Khvalko. Only the athlete who joined the team scored 20 points (10 + 10) in 30 matches of the Major League, and in April, together with the juniors of Kuzbass, he won the gold of the Russian championship in Irkutsk.
