NOVOSIBIRSK, Aug 6Russia as a whole is ready for the official launch and development of a new branch of the economy — unmanned aerial systems, the line of existing drones is almost complete, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov said on Sunday at Archipelago 2023 in Novosibirsk.
“Archipelago 2023 has shown that we are, in principle, ready to launch a new industry. Of course, we do not have everything, but we can do everything at the level of samples, prototypes, demonstrators. We have almost the entire line, one might say, with the exception of individual components, and if we talk about the line of unmanned aerial systems themselves, then it is almost complete. Moreover, the samples are quite at the level of world achievements, and some things exceed the world ones,» he said.
Belousov noted that all federal projects of the new national project «Unmanned aerial systems» have now been structured. He recalled that in accordance with the instruction President of the Russian Federation before September 1, the Russian government must approve this national project.
«This is a rather complicated procedure, but we hope that we will go through it on time. We still have to work with the Ministry of Finance to determine the sources of funding — quite a lot of money is obtained. But given that this work is a high priority … I hope that we will get a balanced, verified version,» — he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the national project consists of five large parts — five federal projects. The first part is devoted to the consolidation of demand. Its consolidator in terms of the state civil order will be STLC, which will work with manufacturers, form a line of drones, and so on to create guaranteed demand, primarily from federal executive authorities and companies with state participation.
