WASHINGTON Aug 8 Canada on Tuesday imposed sanctions against seven representatives of Iran under the thirteenth package of restrictive measures against Tehran, the country's government said.
The list of sanctioned persons includes General Ali Akbar Ahmadian, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Abdolkarim Bani Tarafi, head of the aviation industry organization, and the executive director of Imen Sanat Zaman Fara, a company that manufactures equipment for Iranian law enforcement agencies, Fatemeh Hagshenas.

"This is the thirteenth package of sanctions imposed by Canada against the Iranian regime since October 2022. It strengthens Canada's efforts to synchronize with the sanctions announced by the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States,» the Government of Canada said in a statement.
