Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov leads an active life after being discharged from the hospital and is not shy about posting recovery footage on social media. The fresh video of the athlete simply amazed the fans, some of whom are already eager to see the idol on the ice.
Back on the ice — crazy? At the beginning of 2023, it all seemed incredible. Kostomarov was admitted to intensive care in January with pneumonia and spent a total of 175 days in the hospital. At some point, the skater was on the verge of life and death, and the news from Kommunarka was very controversial. Due to necrosis, doctors had to perform several amputations. Roman also suffered part of the brain, a hemorrhage occurred and a hematoma formed.
Despite all the difficulties, Kostomarov managed to get out. Already in May, he published his first post on social networks, in which he thanked doctors, relatives and fans for their desperate support, without which he could not have coped. Then there was a very touching video when the skater was discharged from Kommunarka. Roman chose the perfect words to describe his gratitude to everyone who pulled him out of the world.
Honored coach of Russia Alexander Zhulin was one of those who always believed in the recovery of a friend. In an interview, he unexpectedly announced that he was ready to give Roman a place in the team in any capacity. At that time it did not look too appropriate, but the progress in the restoration shocked the fans. A month later, his return to the ice no longer looked something unreal.
After being discharged from the hospital, the Olympic champion posted videos from training with prostheses almost every day, and Roman managed to do more and more difficult exercises.
