Norwegian legionnaire «Dynamo» Matthias Norman arbitrarily left our country due to the fact that Ukrainian drones attacked the Moscow City building. Just six months ago, he confessed his love for the capital and assured that he dreamed of playing football here. However, he took the first opportunity to give a damn about professional duties, teammates, coaching staff and fans of two Russian clubs at once.
He really wanted to return to Russia Normann broke into the Russian championship in early 2019 by signing a contract with Rostov. The Norwegian proved to be great at the club and soon signed a new agreement with the Rostovites until 2024. An excellent game in the team of Valery Karpin attracted the attention of the English “Norwich”, where he spent the 2021/22 season on loan.
Then Russia’s NWO began in Ukraine, and Matias at first flatly refused to return to Rostov. But then, having not received worthy offers to continue his career, the Norwegian returned to Russia. Moreover, in transit through Rostov, he went on a new loan to Dynamo. Norman was full of compliments to Moscow and Russia, assuring that he was absolutely happy in our country.
He did not even pay attention to the harsh criticism coming from his native Norway, where he predictably did not understand his return to Russia at such times. Moreover, the head coach of the national team gave Matthias an ultimatum that if he goes to Dynamo or Rostov, the road to the national team will be closed to him.
Normann chose Russia anyway. Only he himself can say what was the main reason — really love for our country, big money or all together.
A real escape from the country and the consequences Then it seemed that the Norwegian really set out to play in the RPL and develop as a football player here. However, the return was not very successful. As part of the «Dynamo» Norman looked much worse than what the fans are accustomed to seeing in the «Rostov». In addition, frequent injuries did not add positive.
Nevertheless, despite the obvious decline in the game and the lost place in the starting lineup, the Norwegian did not plan to leave Russia. True, it was not very clear whether he would continue to stay at Dynamo or finally return from loan to Rostov. Apparently there is no way to find out. The general director of the White-and-Blues, Pavel Pivovarov, told extremely curious details of the behavior of the Norwegian, who arbitrarily left the location of the team.
«
"Normann sent to "Rostov" and "Dynamo" notice of termination of the contract due to the fact that drones crashed into the Moscow City building. Referring to these circumstances, he left the country. We do not agree with this. Together with "Rostov" we are preparing for arbitration. He lived not far from this place, but it was his choice. The club suggested that he change the location. His contract is ending, but nevertheless we will defend our interests,» Pivovarov said.
Of course, it would not be entirely ethical to write about Norman's act in the style of «a Norwegian rat escaped from a ship.» All people have different levels of anxiety, especially since Matthias lived near Moscow City. Someone perceives such emergency situations closer to the heart than the rest. Apparently, Norman is just such a person. Another thing is that running away from the country without actually saying goodbye and not really explaining anything is also a lousy idea.
At least it was possible to convene a press conference, thank the fans, Rostov, Dynamo. Still, the Norwegian spent many years in Russia. But instead, he chose to spit in everyone's face and go AWOL. There is a strong feeling that we will not see Norman's third coming to Russia.
