KAZAN, Aug 18Representatives of the Atninsky and Zainsky regions of Tatarstan were the first in the republic to complete the harvesting of grain and presented the head of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov with a loaf of bread from the flour of the new crop, the press service of the head of the region reports.
«A loaf of grain from the new crop was handed today to the rais (head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting in the house of the government of the republic,» the report says.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan — Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov, on Friday morning Atninsky district was the first to complete grain harvesting, in the afternoon Zainsky region joined the leader. There threshed 58.8 thousand tons and 92 thousand tons of grain with an average yield of 31 and 26 centners per hectare, respectively.
Minnikhanov noted that, despite the difficult year for farmers, Atninsk residents once again demonstrated good results. In 2022, Atninsky district was also the first in the republic to complete grain harvesting.
Zyabbarov, answering the questions of the head of the republic, said that within ten days the harvesting of grain in the fields of Tatarstan should be completed. According to him, today about three million tons of grain have been harvested, the average yield in the republic is 26.4 centners per hectare.
In early July, by order of the head of Tatarstan, an emergency regime was introduced in the republic in connection with the drought and the death of crops. Earlier, the Minister of Agriculture of Tatarstan noted that the frosts that came after sowing and germination damaged part of the crops. The drought, caused by the almost complete lack of rain in June, also seriously affected the grain harvest.
At the end of 2022, more than 5.3 million tons of grain were harvested in Tatarstan.
