STAR TOWN (Moscow region), 25 Aug. Non-alcoholic beer is prohibited on board the ISS, since carbonated drinks are not allowed on the station, said Oleg Kononenko, commander of the cosmonaut corps, at a press conference.
“Alcohol is prohibited on board, and carbonated drinks are also prohibited,” Kononenko answered the question of whether it is possible to take non-alcoholic beer to the ISS.
According to him, juices, tea, and milk are allowed on board the station.
September 15 is scheduled to launch the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft on the Soyuz-2.1a rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome. The crew of ISS-70/71 will fly on it: Kononenko, Nikolai Chub and American Loral O'Hara. The backup crew includes Russian Alexei Ovchinin and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson.
It is expected that Kononenko and Chub will spend 375 days at the station. O'Hara will return to Earth in March 2024.
