Beijing, Aug 25 reflect the willingness of the parties to negotiate, said Cui Heng, a junior research fellow at the Center for Russian Studies at East China Normal University.
«Over the past two weeks, there have been many voices in the Western media discussing peace, including voices calling on Ukraine to trade territory for peace. This is completely different from the tone of past propaganda,» Cui Heng said.
He noted that these judgments arose against the background of the fact that neither side on the battlefield can achieve serious breakthroughs.
«In addition, both Russia and Ukraine are facing serious internal problems that require strength to resolve, and in such conditions, it became possible to freeze the conflict or negotiate a truce,» the analyst stressed.
According to him, «perhaps the change in the tone of Western propaganda lately reflects the readiness of all parties to start negotiations.»
