Ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine accused Biden of corruption

WASHINGTON, Aug 26 Former Attorney General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin, in an interview with Fox News, an excerpt of which was published on Friday, accused US President Joe Biden of involvement in corruption, saying that he had lost his post because his dismissal was «paid» and happened under pressure from Washington.
«

«I don't want to deal with unproven facts, but my personal firm conviction is that yes, it was. They were bribed,” Shokin said.

The ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine claimed that the incumbent US president “gave $1 billion in exchange for his dismissal.” «Isn't that in itself a case of corruption?» Shokin asked.

The Former Attorney General of Ukraine is a central figure in the debate about Biden's alleged use of political influence as Vice President of the United States in the interests of his son Hunter Biden's business. Shokin was fired in 2016, some believe after intense pressure from Joe Biden.

Biden in those years served as Vice President of the United States and oversaw the Ukrainian direction in the administration of Barack Obama. He has repeatedly said he has nothing to do with his son's business dealings, which are now being investigated by the Republican opposition-controlled House of Representatives.
