The Koptevsky District Court of Moscow partially satisfied the claim of the former municipal deputy Yulia Galyamina, who challenged her dismissal from the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). This is stated on the website of the court.
Galyamina writes on her telegram channel that the court demanded that she be reinstated as a teacher at the RANEPA, as well as to pay 115,000 rubles in compensation for illegal dismissal (she demanded 500,000 rubles).
At the same time, in a conversation with SOTA, Galyamina explained that she would still not be able to continue her work, since the law on “foreign agents” forbids teaching people who are included in the Ministry of Justice’s register. Thus, Galyamina believes, she will be fired again, but in compliance with all necessary procedures. The purpose of her lawsuit is to seek compensation for wrongful dismissal, she will not appeal the decision.
Yulia Galyamina was fired from the RANEPA at the end of December 2022 due to the fact that the Ministry of Justice entered her into the register of «foreign agents».
At the end of 2020, Galyamina was sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment in the case of repeated violation of the rules of public events (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code). Since 2017, she has been a municipal deputy of the Timiryazevsky district of Moscow, in 2019 she was going to participate in the elections to the Moscow City Duma, but she was not allowed. Soon she was prematurely deprived of her mandate as a municipal deputy.
