The Basmanny District Court of Moscow is rehearing in absentia a criminal case on military «fakes» against the founder of the Conflict Intelligence Team Ruslan Leviev (Karpuk) and journalist Michael Nucky. According to a Mediazona correspondent, the testimony of a prosecution witness named Sachkov was read out at the meeting.
Sachkov introduced himself as a native of Donetsk and an Internet user. He was not at the meeting, since he is now fighting in Ukraine — the court read out his testimony given during the investigation. The witness said that he saw the video of Leviev and Naka and «was outraged by the actions of the Russian armed forces.» But then he watched the briefings of the Ministry of Defense and decided that the video was not telling the truth.
Criminal case on the creation of military «fakes» by a group of persons «with the artificial creation of evidence of the accusation», as well as on the grounds of political hatred (paragraphs «b», «c», «e» of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) brought because of the video on YouTube from March 5, 2022. It's called WAR. RESULTS OF THE NINTH DAY.
Initially, the case was considered by Judge Yevgenia Nikolaeva, but then it was transferred to Lenskaya for a new trial by Judge Elena Lenskaya. Prior to this, Lenskaya sentenced media manager Ilya Krasilshchik in absentia to eight years in a penal colony. In addition, she sent politician Vladimir Kara-Murza to jail, who was later sentenced to 25 years in prison.
