WASHINGTON Aug 29 Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is not going to be removed since the US presidential election, his press secretary Brian Griffin said on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The possible withdrawal of DeSantis from the presidential race in order to fight for a seat in the Senate was announced earlier by Donald Trump. According to the former American leader, DeSantis' presidential campaign is going «awkwardly», his political ratings have «absolutely collapsed», and instead of presidential ambitions, he will fight for a seat in the Florida Senate.
«That's a lie. It's clear that (former US President) Donald Trump and his army of consultants are panicking about the DeSantis-winning debate and the strong momentum that followed. They know it's a two-man race, and we will continue it until we win the primaries,» Griffin wrote.
The next US presidential election will be held in November 2024. In addition to DeSantis, former President Donald Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christy and others. The current President of the United States, Democrat Joe Biden, said in April that he also intends to be re-elected.
